Abstract:

A UK research centre, part of a consortium has developed an enzymatic hydrolysis process to convert solid waste from tannery operations into collagen protein. This has a number of potential commercial applications that offer a sustainable environmental alternative to current method of disposing waste to landfill. Applications such as an additive to adhesives used in the manufacture of plywood, chipboard and in the manufacture of latex. Commercial partners sought to exploit market opportunities.

Dry-made natural fibre panel for buildings insulation

Abstract:

An Italian firm, operating in the field of natural materials for bio-architecture, is looking for the development of a new panel, made from natural recycled fibres, for buildings insulation. The resulting panel should be produced in a dry-way, by means of an original process. Wet solutions could be considered only if less expensive than the existing process. Preferential partners are research centres both academic or industrial.
